My lettuce is growing so fast I think it’s gonna be dead by the time I can plant it this weekend. Think the plants are getting root-bound in the small planters but I won’t have a chance to get them in the ground until this weekend. I’m really hoping that it’s not going to rain on Saturday like the current forecast is showing because I’m going to need both of those days.
Lesson learned: there is no reason to start lettuce early 
Not sure why its recommended but I won’t be doing that again next year. Or, at the very least, I won’t start the lettuce so early.
Oh well, I have plenty of seed and at the very least it has been a good learning experience.
